Candle Making Workshop

On Sunday, April 26, please join us with local artisan Sheryl Shore of Mile-End Soap & Candle Supply for an afternoon of beeswax candle making.
Focused on havdalah candles – a multi-wick candle traditionally used to mark the end of Shabbat – this workshop will guide participants through every step of the process. Guests who do not celebrate Shabbat are of course welcome to create regular taper candles, birthday candles, or candles significant to a practice of their own. During the workshop, Sheryl will also provide context on candle making, the life of bees and wax production, and her personal experiences with the craft. No prior experience required!
Tickets are $30 per person. All necessary materials provided. Due to limited capacity, advanced registration is encouraged. Reserve your spot.
About Sheryl:
Lured by the intoxicating aroma of beeswax, Sheryl Shore began dipping candles 25 years ago. Shore is committed to valourizing the work of bees who create the wax, and brings a modern take on the ancient craft. Shore grew up with a very strong cultural Jewish identity, and the nuanced relationship she has with her traditional background has led her to create candles that may contribute to peaceful contemplation.
