Mon February 18, 2019 @ 19:30 - 21:00
An event every week that begins at 19:30 on Monday, repeating until Mon March 4, 2019
Presented by the Jewish Learning Lab
Join Rabbi Dr. Allan Nadler, former Dean of Jewish Studies, Drew University, Lecturer, McGill University, for an engaging three-part lecture series that explores the impact of three significant rabbis on Montreal’s Jewish life. Over the course of 3 weeks, Rabbi Nadler will present Rabbi Pinchas Hirshprung, Rabbi Leib Baron, and Rabbi Dr. Nachum Rabonovitch alongside discussions of Maimonides’ code law, halakhic decision, Jewish philosophies, rabbinical scholarship, and the foundation of the first Orthodox Yeshiva Day School in Canada.
Each rabbi contributed to the major structures of Jewish life in Montreal and in Israel in the post-Holocaust period. Rabbi Nadler had the opportunity to study with each rabbi for many decades, beginning in 1973.
Lectures will be followed by a question and answer period.
A unique opportunity to engage in an iterated discussion and reflection with Rabbi Allan Nadler, McGill Course Lecturer in Jewish Studies
