Listen to Muriel Gold discuss her family's history and immigration to Canada, her parents' subsequent eight-year correspondence, and her relationship with each of her incredibly devoted parents. The entire family history is detailed in Muriel Gold's book, "Tell Me Why Nights are Lonesome" (Montreal: Shoreline Press, 2004), which was inspired by finding a box of her parents' letters from 1912-1921, and covers the story of three generations of the Haltrecht family. Muriel Gold is a Montreal-based theatre educator, producer, and director, she is the former Artistic Director of The Saidye Bronfman Centre Theatre and has taught at McGill, Concordia and Dawson College, and she is the author of several books.
