The Deller Sukkah, an unauthorized, meticulous replica of a painted wooden sukkah from Germany, was smuggled to British Mandate Palestine at the outbreak of WWII, and recreated in the basement of Jerusalem’s former leper colony.

The Sukkah - Between Eternal and Ephemeral: Migrations and Temporary Structures from Germany to Bedouin Communities Join Diego Rotman (artist-in-residence and visiting professor, Queen’s University) of the Sala-manca group to discover the incredible stories behind their work and collaborative efforts creating two sukkot. This fall we'll be offering a series of 10 beginner Yiddish classes at the Museum, led by experienced Yiddish teacher Sheila Witt! Explore this Jewish language and culture through basic vocabulary, short stories, poems, expressions, and well-known songs, and learn how to lead a simple conversation! Dislocation is a research based pop-up art exhibition featuring the work of Jordanna Ibghy and Darren Rabinowitz. Over 500 years after their forced expulsion, the Jews of Spain continue to identify as Sephardic (Hebrew word for Spanish). Dislocation investigates the role of place in shaping the artists’ Sephardic identities.
