Long Distance: A Storytelling Evening

Thu February 28, 2019 @ 19:30 - 21:30

In conjunction with our exhibit The Ocean Between Us, the Museum and our partners Next Dor and Moishe House will be holding a storytelling event centred around the theme of long distance. The event will feature a variety of community stories about “long distances,” interpreted broadly as physical separations or obstacles, mental or emotional challenges, or metaphorical distances through time, transformations, or failures and successes. In honour of JDAIMwe are especially interested in sharing stories of disability.

Do you have a story that you’d like to share about a long-distance relationship, a life-changing journey, or an obstacle that you’ve had to face? Is there an emotional hurdle, spiritual challenge, or psychological struggle that you’d like to talk about? Do you have a story to share about experiencing a significant change over time, a mental or physical transformation, a high or a low point, or having to take extra steps and go the distance?

If you’d like to share your story at this event, please contact Aviv ([email protected]), Luisa ([email protected] ), Jesse ([email protected] ), or Orly ([email protected]) with a brief description! Stories should be approximately 5-10 minutes in length, and can be told in English or French.

Entrance for this event is pay what you can.
