Moroccan Sfenj: A Hanukkah Cooking Demonstration with Sina Mizrahi
Mon November 8, 2021 @ 20:00 - 21:00
Are you looking for a new recipe to prepare for your friends and loved ones this Hanukkah? in partnership with Festival Sefarad de Montréal, join the Museum of Jewish Montreal with cookbook author Sina Mizrahi to learn how to prepare sfenj (sfinj), or Moroccan doughnuts. Coming off the release of her newly-published Good Food: Inspired by my Middle Eastern roots and the places I’ve called home, we will revisit this classic Moroccan dessert just in time to prepare for the holidays.
All guests will receive a copy of the recipe before the event, so you can cook along with Sina and your loved ones at home. Guests are welcome to prepare the sfenj dough ahead of time, and it will also be demonstrated as a part of Sina’s workshop. You can choose to proof the dough in advance (see Steps 1-2 of the recipe, available here), or make the doughnuts following the demonstration. All participants will also have the chance to ask Sina their questions about the recipe, her book, and much more. Please note that this event will take place in English, with closed-captioning in French.
Registration is required ahead of time. Click here to reserve your ticket!
All registrants are able to receive 10% off Sina’s newest cookbook at Victoria Gift Shop. Just tell them the Museum sent you!
We thank the support of the Nussia and Andre Aisenstadt Foundation, the Jewish Community Foundation, and Federation CJA for making this event possible.
