Who we are

People are seeking new places and opportunities to feel connected to Jewish community and to feel inspired by Jewish arts, culture and heritage. The Museum helps Jewish Montrealers to connect in creative, fresh, inclusive, and meaningful ways.

Each year we welcome 25,000+ participants to experience 50+ events, mount 4 art exhibitions and 500 tours, 3 fellowship streams, and unique youth leadership and microgranting programs.

We are a hub of experimental and ground breaking programming that uses Montreal’s unique Jewish arts, culture and heritage to offer a different way to build Jewish community.  We’re asking you to help us support the future of our activities and programming.

The future of Jewish culture is happening here.

Build the future with us.

What we do

The Museum’s arts programming and exhibitions seek to share Montreal’s diverse Jewish cultures and highlight contemporary issues and questions through innovative approaches.

Our events act as a way to strengthen our audiences’ connections to community and Jewish arts and culture through new experiences.

We provide the public with opportunities to explore and share Montreal’s Jewish heritage, including walking tours, cooking workshops, and educational experiences for schools.

Our Fellowships offer research opportunities for young adults to create content that enriches the Museum’s programs and to build skills for working in the cultural sector.

Our online collection maps and stores the diverse stories of people, places and events that form Montreal’s Jewish past and present.

We are dedicated to supporting the next generation of Montreal’s artistic and cultural leaders through our Microgrant Program for Creative Exploration.

If you are interested in supporting a specific programming area with your gift, please contact our Development Team at info@imjm.ca, or 514-840-9300

How we make a difference

Your contribution will activate our new space and allow us to continue building our vision as a community-driven museum around three central pillars:

IDENTITY

We provide all Jews, but especially young adults, with a new sense of community. The Museum encourages a lifelong connection with Jewish arts and culture, while giving everyone space to express and take ownership of their Jewish identity.

INTERCHANGE

The Museum offers opportunities to preserve, explore, and share components of Montreal’s diverse Jewish history, heritage, and knowledge. Our aim is to increase public understanding and appreciation of Montreal’s Jewish life and culture.

INSPIRATION

The Museum develops new Jewish cultural experiences by inspiring and supporting creative projects and experiments. We act as a catalyst to a growing Jewish arts and culture ecosystem in Montreal.
