Harvest Hike: Sukkot in the Laurentians
Sun October 1 @ 10:30 - 15:30
Have you ever wanted to celebrate Sukkot in the wilderness? On October 1, we invite you to join us with Rabbi Dini Lewittes for an afternoon of hiking, reflection, and dining among the Laurentian Mountains.
Otherwise known as the Jewish fall harvest festival, Sukkot is a time to appreciate the gifts of our natural world, especially in a time of intensifying climate crisis. In Rabbi Lewittes’ home, guests will be invited to take part in a guided mindfulness hike, spirited reflections, craft-based rituals, and lunch in the Sukkah overlooking beautiful Lake Manitou.
10:30am – Guests arrive
11:00am – Guided mindfulness hike with Rabbi Lewittes
1:30pm – Vegetarian Sukkah lunch and craft in Rabbi Lewittes’ home
3:30pm – Guests depart
HOW TO GET THERE:
Rabbi Lewittes’ home is located in the Laurentians, approximately 60-75 minutes by car from Montreal. Following registration, guests will receive an email with Rabbi Lewittes’ address.
We will not be providing transportation to the event site, however we will do our best to facilitate carpools for those who do not have a car or cannot find a carpool on their own. If you do not have access to a car, please fill out the registration questions accordingly. If you are able to make room in your car for additional passengers, please fill out the registration questions accordingly. We thank everyone in advance for making room in their vehicles to share this afternoon together.
Please note that the hike’s difficulty level is moderate. Guests are strongly encouraged to wear proper footwear and outdoor attire. The hike is not suitable for guests with limited mobility.
