It’s A Purim Party!

Thu March 2, 2023 @ 20:00 - 23:00

Calling all queens, kings, and bon-vivants! We’re having a Purim party and you’re all invited!

On Thursday, March 2, come dressed in your most dazzling disguise and join us for a Purim party that you won’t want to miss. Featuring a costume contest with chances to win prizes from our favourite local vendors, sweets, music, and a special performance by La Poubelle of the Ball herself, Poutine Levine, there’s no reason you wouldn’t want to celebrate one of our most spectacular holidays of all.

Tickets start at $10 plus tax for students or $15 plus tax for general admission. All tickets include access to our sweets table (yes, there will be hamantaschen) and an invitation to join our costume contest – judged by none other than your fellow partygoers – with prizes to be won from our favourite local shops. Setting the musical tone for the celebration will be none other than DJ Umami who will ensure that no bops go unplayed. At an extra cost, our bar (payable by card only) will be open all through the evening. Please note that this event is 18+.

CLICK HERE TO GET YOUR TICKETS IN ADVANCE.

PARTY PROGRAMME:
9:00 pm – Drag performance by Poutine Levine
10:00 pm – Costume contest, emceed by Poutine Levine

Although costumes are not mandatory, they are strongly, strongly encouraged. For everyone’s enjoyment, masks and groggers will be available at the door for those who choose to arrive undisguised.

So, are you an Esther, Haman, Achashverosh, or someone else altogether? We can’t wait to see you to find out!

This event is presented in proud partnership with Mile End Chavurah (MECh) with funding from the Federation CJA’s Working Together grant. MECh is an inclusive, irreverently pious, intergenerational community that is re-imagining religious practice and re-inventing urban Jewish community.

The Museum of Jewish Montreal is an inclusive space that is committed to producing safe and uplifting events for our community. There will be absolutely no tolerance for any forms of violence, assault, intimidation, or discrimination, including homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, racism, antisemitism, or ableism.
