Klezmer on the Main: Outdoor Concert & Street Festival

Join us and KlezKanada in welcoming Moritz Weiss and Ivan Trenev from Austria for a free outdoor klezmer concert during the Labour Day weekend street fair along Boulevard St. Laurent!
From 1-2 PM on Sunday September 1 we’ll have live music right outside our Museum (corner of Duluth and St. Laurent), and from Thursday-Sunday we’ll be out from 11:30-6:30 PM with our booth selling delightful gifts from our boutique and refreshing snacks from Fletchers – Espace Culinaire.
Duo Trenev & Weiß‘s project, “Kleztango and Beyond“, is a duo project featuring two best friends in world music entering into a musical dialogue on the clarinet and accordion. The accordion supports the laughing, sighing, and cawing sounds of the clarinet with soft, crystal clear sounds and rhythmically playful melodies. Trenev and Weiß devote themselves to two wonderful musical varieties – Tango and Klezmer – and playfully sculpt out their commonalities. In April 2019 their debut album “KlezTango“ was released on Lotus Records.
