Montreal Jewish Arts Collaborative: Learn Session

Sun July 9 @ 13:00 - 17:00

Do you have a creative project in the works, or want to build your skills as an emerging artist or cultural creator? On Sunday, July 9, we are excited to present the first of four sessions of the newly-announced Montreal Jewish Arts Collaborative!

This will be an afternoon of “pick your own learning” workshops (more details on the four individual sessions below). Each 90-minute session will be offered twice, first from 1:15pm–2:45pm, and again from 3pm – 4:30pm. You’re welcome to sign up for two workshops, or just one – whatever works best for you! The sessions are free, and include coffee, snacks, and some mingling time to meet the other members of the Montreal Jewish Arts Collaborative.

Meet and Greet: 1:00pm – 1:15pm
First Session of Workshops: 1:15pm – 2:45pm
Coffee & Snack Break: 2:45pm – 3:00pm
Second Session of Workshops: 3pm – 4:30pm
Mingle and Meet: 4:30pm – 5:00pm

1. How to Get Started: Creative Strategies for Generating Material (with Avia Moore)
2. The Disorganized’s Guide to Getting Organized: Creative Project Planning & Management (with Alyssa Stokvis-Hauer)
3. The Art of Getting Out There: Writing, Communications, and Marketing for Creatives (with Austin Henderson)
4. Creativity Through Constraints: An Introduction to Project Budgeting (with Anya Kowalchuk)

For more information on each workshop and to sign up, please fill out this Google Form. It is mandatory to complete the form in order to sign up for the workshop(s). You may only select one workshop from each of the two sessions offered. Capacity is limited so register early to avoid disappointment.

What is the Montreal Jewish Arts Collaborative?
A partnership between the Museum of Jewish Montreal (MJM), KlezKanada, and the Segal Centre for Performing Arts, the Montreal Jewish Arts Collaborative aims to continue building a vibrant artistic ecosystem in our city by creating moments for intentional, creative gatherings, where ideas can be shared and new collaborations can grow. This new project will bring together our creative communities to share resources and offer more ways for creative and/or culturally-engaged projects to receive mentorship, access to a more diverse network of peers, and offer opportunities to collaborate on new projects or enhance your current work.

This event and forthcoming programming for the Montreal Jewish Arts Collaborative is supported by Federation CJA’s Working Together Grant.

Accessibility: The Museum of Jewish Montreal’s upper floors are accessible via staircase. Please note that our building is not currently suitable for visitors with limited mobility. Some of the workshops available will be held on the upper floors of our building. For more information, please contact us directly.
